Basics
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Pass vision test
- Pass the color blindness test
Documents
- Pass DOT certification
- Out-of-state CDL or New Mexico driver’s license
- Proof of identification number
- Commercial driver medical certificate
- Proof of U.s citizenship or lawful permanent residence status in the United States
- 2 proof of physical residency in New Mexico
- Proof of identity (including date of birth)
Payments
- 4 year CDL $18
- 8 year $34
- Background check and fingerprinting required to obtain a hazmat endorsement is $127
