Basics

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
  • Pass vision test
  • Pass the color blindness test

Documents

  • Pass DOT certification
  • Out-of-state CDL or New Mexico driver’s license
  • Proof of identification number
  • Commercial driver medical certificate
  • Proof of U.s citizenship or lawful permanent residence status in the United States
  • 2 proof of physical residency in New Mexico
  • Proof of identity (including date of birth)

Payments

  • 4 year CDL $18
  • 8 year $34
  • Background check and fingerprinting required to obtain a hazmat endorsement is $127
