Basics
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Must be at least 21 to transport hazardous materials and passengers
- Pass vision test
- Distinguish colors found on traffic signals
- Should be able to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of at least 5 feet
Documents
- Possess a CDL learner’s permit
- Possess a valid New York State driver’s license
- DOT card that is no more than 2 years old
- Proof of insurance and vehicle registration

- CDL Fee $164.50
