Basics
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Must be at least 21 to transport hazardous materials and passengers
- 16 years of age may test for a CDL restricted to custom harvesting operations only
- Read, write, and speak English
- Pass knowledge tests and CLP
- Pass an eye examination
- Pass road test
Documents
- Must meet all federal Medical Requirements
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Proof of legal presence
- Proof of residence address
- Certify that you are in agreement with state motor carrier safety regulations
- Proof of identification
Payments
- Knowledge test $5 per attempt
- CDL permit $15 ($20 for non-domiciled)
- Standard CDL $15
- Endorsements $3
- Road Test $5
