- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Must be at least 21 to transport hazardous materials and passengers
- Meet requirements for a South Carolina driver’s license
- Pass CDL exams
- Pass vision screening test

- Certify that you are in agreement with state motor carrier safety regulations
- Provide valid Medical examiner’s Certificate
- Proof of identity and legal presence and South Carolina residency
- Provide your Social security number
