Basics
- Must be at least 18 to apply for an intrastate CDL
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Must be at least 21 to transport hazardous materials
Documents
- Have a Class D license for at least 1 year and in good standing
- Possess a social security card
- Be able to show proof of insurance
- Pass a 10-year background check
- Pass TSA screening
- Pass medical examination
- Pass a periodic drug test
