Basics
- Must be at least 18 to apply for an intrastate CDL
- Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
- Pass the General Knowledge exam
Documents
- Class D license that will be valid for the entire length of the commercial permit
- Proof of lawful permanent residence in the U.S
- Social Security number
- Not hold a driver’s license in any other state
- Meet minimum commercial driver’s license medical standards
