Basics

  • Must be at least 18 to apply for an intrastate CDL
  • Must be at least 21 to travel out of state
  • Pass the General Knowledge exam

Documents

  • Class D license that will be valid for the entire length of the commercial permit
  • Proof of lawful permanent residence in the U.S
  • Social Security number
  • Not hold a driver’s license in any other state
  • Meet minimum commercial driver’s license medical standards

Payments

  • Permit Application $30
  • License/Learner’s Application and Road test $35
  • Class A, B, C 5 year license $75
  • CDL endorsement after permit $10
  • Out of State License Conversion $140
