Basics

  • Must be at least 18 to apply for an intrastate CDL
  • Must be at least 21 to travel out of state

Disqualifications

  • Inability to make the necessary certification contained on the CDL certification form
  • Having a license from more than one state
  • A current suspension, revocation, denial, or consolation of your license
  • Conviction of 6-point in 24 months immediately preceding application
  • Conviction of DUI in 24 months immediately preceding application
  • A suspension or revocation in the 26 months immediately preceding the application
  • Failure to appear in court, failure to comply with a judgment, failure to appear for re-examination
