My reason for becoming a professional truck driver stems from my childhood. My dad drove for North American Van Lines. On some Sunday afternoons, He’d take me to the local GMC truck dealership to look at trucks. I remember him putting me on his shoulder for me to see inside of those cabovers on the lot. He would then explain to me everything I was looking at.

I had the opportunity to ride with my dad a few times on some long distance trips. I was mesmerized each time. I looked at truck drivers as super heroes and my dream was to one day be a truck driver!

I love the trucking industry with a passion and am blessed to continue to be in the industry behind the mic on The Tim Ridley Show on SiriusXM’s Road Dog Trucking Radio!

Trucking has provided my family and I a wonderful life! I’ve purchased homes, motorcycles, RV’s, etc. I’ve been blessed to work in a myriad of positions in the trucking industry. I was an instructor at a truck driving school, later being promoted to Lead Instructor, Director of Job Placement and then School Director.

I owned a trucking company for many years. I also worked as a recruiter, corporate management and Terminal Manager for the then second largest temperature-controlled company in the U.S.

Trucking is a wonderful profession – A career where you can be a highly paid tourist!
